I heard that the police caught a suspect involved in a shooting on the 1200 block of 4th Street and recovered a weapon around 5pm yesterday evening, which would be very good news (let's hope prosecutors allow the police to hold the suspect this time). I have not seen an official statement from the police as of yet. The police tape may be related.
Good work, MPD! --- On February 3, 2009, at about 4:30 PM a subject fired a weapon at an unidentified individual in the 1200 block of 5th Street, NW. MPD officers were down the street and heard the gunshots. They immediately responded and apprehended the suspect as he fled. A handgun was also recovered. Nobody was struck by the gunfire and no complainant came forward. If anyone has any information about this case or knows who the intended target may have been, please contact the Metropolitan Police Department on (202) 727-9099. Thanks
